And while sometimes those proprietary drivers are available within Linux, the only people I saw in a brief search who got that working had to use a Windows driver using ndiswrapper in Linux. Broadcom wireless chips often have proprietary drivers not supported by native Linux open source drivers. For one thing there are several versions of AE1200, so what works or not may depend upon which version.
